WHEN INNER PEACE BECOMES ANOTHER DEMAND

You meditate, work on yourself and try to be more present. Yet you still get frustrated when anxiety, anger or restlessness returns.

Perhaps you even start seeing your own emotions as something you should have moved beyond by now.

But what if your constant pursuit of inner peace is actually part of what keeps you stuck?

YOU DON’T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE IN BALANCE

Spiritual practice can offer valuable insights. But it can also become a way of avoiding feelings we would rather not face.

We try to meditate our anger away, accept our way out of grief or rise above our need for closeness and recognition.

But the feelings we are trying to get rid of often have something important to tell us.

LEARNING TO FACE YOURSELF

In my work, I draw on depth psychology, mentalization, mindfulness and a trauma-informed approach.

There is room for both your spiritual experiences and the messier parts of being human.

The aim isn’t to reach a point where you never feel angry, afraid or sad again. It’s to develop a different relationship with your emotions, so they no longer have to run your life.

Perhaps real change begins when you stop demanding that you should be different from who you are.

If any of this resonates with you, feel free to get in touch. I offer psychotherapy online and in person in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen.
