WHEN THE BODY CAN’T FIND PEACE
You can meditate for years, develop a deep understanding of yourself, and experience periods of profound inner clarity. Yet old patterns can still resurface when life becomes difficult.
You may understand your anxiety without being able to let go of it. You may recognize your defense mechanisms and still react automatically when someone gets too close.
One reason is that psychological insight doesn’t necessarily change the patterns deeply ingrained in our nervous system.
In psychotherapy, we therefore work not only on understanding our difficulties but also on learning to feel what we have previously tried to avoid. We develop the capacity to stay present with difficult emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them.
For me, this is where psychology and spirituality meet. Spiritual insight can open up new perspectives, while psychological work helps us integrate those insights into our relationships, our bodies, and our everyday lives.
The aim is not to eliminate inner turmoil, but to no longer be controlled by it.
I offer psychotherapy online and in person in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, in both English and Danish.
